Naseem Ashraf Resigns

So the aftermath continues. Contrary to my expectation, Naseem Ashraf did have some self respect left, according to Cricinfo's sources he has already handed in his resignation to the so called Patron in Chief, President Mushy. It remains to be seen if our largely good for nothing President can for once do something really beneficial for the sport by accepting the doctor's resignation and tendering in one him self, not sure who he would address it to, given he him self has placed him self at the highest position he could make in the Pakistan Cricket  a d m i n i s t r a t i o n , but still, he needs to go too. Or wait a second, I know! I'd love a public apology and an open letter of resignation addressed to us: the biggest stakeholders of the game of cricket in this country, the fans. But I might as well dream on.

Anyway, so after a tragic loss of the coach, the unceremonious retirement and stepping down of the captain, and now the blessing of losing an haughty, hypocritical  a d m i n i s t r a t o r , all in a matter of days, even before we have played our next game in the World Cup, we have already lost all most all of the main men at helm when the loss to Ireland came about. Will there be more causalities? Perhaps. Express was speculating (link to report in Urdu) Waseem Bari was considering tending his resignation too, though they too reported the could not yet confirm the report because the chairman of selectors was not answering his phone. With so many people going, or on the verge of going, the obvious question now is, who replaces them. And these questions aren't easy questions so I'll try and gather some sleep before I attempt to answer them, until then tata.

QUICK UPDATE 1: It could all be a bluff. Merely speculation at this point in time, but there you go (and I need to sleep, so yes, I really must go).

QUICK UPDATE 2: The resignations continue. Iqbal Qasim, a member of the much maligned selection panel, has also reportedly resigned, not confirmation from Waseem Bari yet. Wonder how long Bari will wait before he tenders his resignation too.
