10/18/2005 - Good Things in Small Packages

I've liked Ritter Sport chocolates for quite some time now.  These are those large squares of chocolate from Germany that are conveniently packaged in resealable packs that can be toted anywhere anytime.  As the name suggests, they were originally developed for athletes who needed a quick energy boost on the playing field.  Nowadays, they are enjoyed by chocoholics who can choose from pure chocolate squares or squares filled with marzipan, whole nuts, rum raisins, and even yoghurt cream.  (That last one is a personal favorite of mine.  The slightly tangy yoghurt serves to balance the creamy sweetness of the chocolate.)

As seen above, though, Ritter Sport has become more convenient as it now comes in assorted miniatures.  Sold in packs of nine, these are great to share with your friends - or to enjoy on your own.  ^_^  Ritter Sport Minis usually come in varying combinations of the following variants: Vollmilch (pure milk chocolate), Joghurt (yoghurt cream in milk chocolate), Knusperflakes (corn flakes in milk chocolate), Knusperkeks (a whole butter cookie in milk chocolate), Nugat (gianduja in milk chocolate), Haselnuss (chopped hazelnuts in milk chocolate), and Marchpane (marzipan in dark chocolate).  At PhP 114.00 for a pack of nine individually wrapped squares, it's definitely worth it.

Ritter Sport Minis are available in the chocolate section of SM Supermarkets; I have yet to see them anywhere else.
