Both Argentina and Brazil have already qualified, leaving two automatic qualifying places open to Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. Ecuador only need a draw at home to Uruguay to ensure their place at the finals, whereas all other teams will be looking for wins. Paraguay could qualify for the finals with a win away to Venezuela. Chile travel to Colombia in a match that both teams will need to win to keep their hopes alive. Whoever loses the match could then at best hope for a playoff place.
