I went on to live and work as a freelancer in Europe for almost a decade. After returning to America in 1990, another life-long dream came true when I traveled around the world for eight glorious months in 1995. But instead of taking pictures, I documented the trip in a daily journal which later became hundreds of poems. The journal would ultimately convince me that my "true creative calling" was to be a poet. My poetry has appeared both in national and international literary journals and magazines, both online and in print. I also tutor university-level students in English and American history.
