• 4/2/2009 - Taylor Made Burner Clubs - More Speed, More Distance

by GolfPro

Golfers interested in more speed and more distance are flocking to Taylor Made Burner golf club. These clubs provide higher swing speed, deeper face height, oversized address areas, higher launch capabilities, mid spin and maximum forgiveness. Taylor Made Burners have continued to change over the years, with the newest models offering more innovative speed and distance than ever before. With the new launch of the latest Burner driver ready to hit the market in Spring 2009, golf lovers everywhere are getting excited about the new possibilities of game improvement via the Taylor Made club release.

The SuperFast Technology associated with the Burner series drivers include a reduction in club weight, for faster swing speed and added distance possibilities. The larger 460cc clubhead is combined with the Taylor Made Inverted Cone Technology allowing for a high Moment-of-Inertia (MOI) exceeding 5800. In addition, the innovative shaft by Fujikura allows for a lightweight and stable ability to get more distance and accuracy.

Taylor Made Burner clubs have a rich history in the golfing world. The first Burner clubs have been continuously used for over 20 years. Golfing professionals have long loved the Burner drivers and the capability it gives them to get great distance and speed off of the tee. Today's professionals love the Burner series just as much as the pros did twenty years ago, which is why Taylor Made continuously adds updated technology to Burner drivers and irons.

The original Taylor Made Burner driver was first released in 1983. Over the years, other models have followed with progressive club innovations. The newest Burner TP driver will be released in 2009. All of the drivers in the Burner series are created with distance-hungry golfers in mind. These golfers want the most distance possible, which is what the Burner drivers can deliver. The 2007 Taylor Made Burner first introduced the SuperFast Technology, with light grips and shafts. The 2008 Burner model kept the SuperFast technology but also has added Dual Crown Technology. It weighs less than 300 grams and allows for faster swings, higher launch possibilities and less spin overall.

The Taylor Made Burner driver is primarily geared for low handicappers. It has a slightly open clubface and comes with several choices in shafts (55 or 65 grams). While the changes are quite small, in relation to the other models, the changes certainly improve the club. The new model offers even more potential in speed, distance, accuracy and forgiveness.

The Taylor Made Burner iron sets are specifically made for those who are "10+ handicap bomber" golfers. These golfers are interested in irons with the same capabilities of the Burner drivers (fast speed, distance). The irons in this series have the highest MOI of any of the other irons from Taylor Made Golf. Thus, they offer great forgiveness on improper hits and golfers get less distance loss when they hit off-center. Thus, players can have better games than they might have with other, less forgiving models of golf clubs. When players experience the forgiveness of these Burner clubs, they rarely attempt to golf with anything else.

Burner irons are made with muscular clubheads and a thick topline. Each one has a wide beveled sole, as well. The perimeter weighting in the thin clubface allows for a lower center of gravity. This helps to give the golfer a higher launch and trajectory. Offering more offset than other Taylor Made irons, they offer less of a chance for a fade and a promotion for a draw ball flight.

Many professionals over the years have come to rely on Taylor Made Burner clubs. Some of the tour players who love the Burner series include Jeff Sluman, Darren Clarke, Tom Kite, Scott Piercy, Carl Petterson, Danny Lee, Frank Funk, Peter Hanson and Bruce Vaughan.

If distance and speed are the main goals of a golfer, whether they are professional or amateur, Taylor Made Burner drivers and irons are ideal when choosing Golf equipment. While all Taylor Made golf clubs are beneficial to improving games, the Burner series is for the power-hitter enthusiasts. Their drivers and irons allow golfers of all skill levels to fully reach their potential. They can hit further and faster than ever before, even if they have a flawed drive from the tee. Once golfers see the forgiveness associated with the Burner series golf clubs by Taylor Made, they can't go back to any other golfing series without seeing the true advantage Burner clubs offer.

If you are interested in playing guitar, you may want to get one of your own. It would be impractical to use other people's guitar for your practice. In addition, guitar is not an expensive instrument. You will be able to get a decent guitar for your practice for just a few hundred bucks. This article will give you some tips on buying a guitar so that you can make use of it when you decide to get one.

1 Set up your budget: I guess if you read this article, you are new to guitar. Am I correct? In that case, you have to know that you are the beginner. Since the price range of guitar can be from a few hundred dollars to several thousands. So you have to know the range of your budget. With the budget in mind, you will be able to look for the one that is suitable to your need. I would suggest that you should start with a not so high price one. Just a few hundred will do in my opinion since you are a starter. You can get a new one when you are better at it later.

2 Decide what type of guitar you want: There are several types of guitar to choose. You can get either electric guitar or acoustic guitar. You can choose to buy a used bass gear or a lead guitar. You can even buy a banjo which is a type of guitar. With all the choices you have, you must know which one you want to go for. For the beginner, I would suggest that you start with acoustic guitar since it is simple to use. And you don't need sophisticate stuff now.

3 Set up the brand preference: Like any other merchandises, guitar price and quality differs according to their brands. Famous brand will cost you more but it provide you with better quality. In one brand, there may be a wide range to choose. I would suggest that you select the one at the low-end price of a well-known brand. The brand can somewhat confirm the quality and the price will be still under your budget.

4 Know how to screen out the bad ones: You may need to bring along someone who know guitar well when you go to the shop. He can help you by playing the guitar you choose and listen to the quality of sound. If you have no body, ask the store owner or seller to show you by playing at them. You can compare the quality of the sound by listening to his performance. Look at the frets, the cords, the board and the structure of the guitar if they are all OK.

Buying guitar is not a difficult task. You can do it with some tips and you then can carry your new guitar home.

• 3/26/2009 - How to Choose a GPS

The first thing to decide is how you plan on using a GPS and the second is how much you plan on spending on a GPS. Do you plan on using it in your car, for hiking and backpacking, or for hunting and/or fishing? Current GPS receivers are limited as to what they can do and are optimized a specific purpose. There are GPS specifically for flying, others for hunting and/or fishing, and others for Car Navigation. A few are just an electronic map that shows your position on the map screen. Others have no maps at all and can be just fine if you just want to know your longitude/latitude.

If you plan on using your GPS in an automobile, there are several choices: a basic or mapping handheld receiver; a dedicated automotive receiver; a GPS with a PDA; or a Laptop GPS.

Although handheld units can be used in a car there are several disadvantages-the screen can be hard to see due to its small size and some units will need to be placed forward on the dashboard where they can get a better signal. With a basic (non-mapping) unit you can tell where you are as long as you have a paper map with you to interpret that data.

A mapping unit is the more useful choice considering with driving usually involves roads. A dedicated automotive receiver is larger than a handheld in order to accommodate a screen large enough to be seen while driving. They are powered by the car's electrical system and because of this; they can only be used in a vehicle. Automotive units usually have voice instructions to allow you to navigate without taking your eyes off the road. Prices start at about $500 US.

A GPS with a PDA needs clear access to the sky for satellite reception. Some receivers have the antenna built in or have the capability for an external antenna. An antenna on the seat of your car may or may not work. The console is the next best place - reception may be questionable. An air vent mount is better and a windshield mount or the antenna placed all the way forward on the dashboard is better yet. The most reliable place is for an external antenna to be attached to the roof of your car.

A laptop GPS requires a CF with an external antenna, a Bluetooth GPS receiver, a mouse-type GPS receiver, or be connected via a cable to a handheld GPS unit so the receiver can be placed in a position for good reception. Of course a laptop is large, but the main advantage is a very large screen for maps. If you have a need for a laptop in your car, this may be the best choice and a mouse-type receiver is inexpensive.

If you plan on using your GPS for hiking or backpacking there are three choices, a basic handheld receiver, a mapping handheld receiver and GPS with a PDA. It is also recommended that in addition to your GPS, you should take a paper map, and magnetic compass, and extra batteries. Weight and size need to be considered when deciding which GPS to choose. A basic receiver does not have mapping abilities, however it will display your location in a format that you choose, and most likely latitude/longitude. Providing your paper maps have your chosen position format marked on them, your GPS will allow you to find your location on the map. If your maps don't have the position format grids marked already, this is something you'll want to do yourself. These are going to be the least expensive choices for GPS, often less than $100 US and are as accurate as more expensive units; they just don't have as many features. The main feature they lack is mapping capability.

For hunting or fishing many handheld models include best hunting and fishing times for a given location and date. Mapping handheld receivers are often larger, heavier, and/or have shorter battery lives than basic units. Shorter battery life means carrying more extra batteries adding bulk and weight. With a mapping handheld unit you will have the benefit of having the maps displayed on your GPS. These also include other benefits such as a barometric altimeter, an electronic compass, games, and a calendar and you can plan your route ahead of time on your PC and upload it to your GPS. These units display pre-loaded maps and map detail is reflected by the size and resolution of the screen. This means that mapping units are generally larger than basic units. The downside of a GPS with a PDA is that it will drain your battery quicker and it also of the top of your PDA. Mapping units are more expensive than basic units; prices start at about $150 US unless you get one with Bluetooth capabilities which are more expensive. For fishing a chart plotter/GPS or a GPS sounder are also available. The chart plotter/GPS and GPS sounders usually have a lot of features and start at about $400 US.

• 3/24/2009 - Golf Putter | Make It Your Best Friend

Choosing the right putter can be the most important decision you make when it comes to your equipment. In fact, the putter is the club you use the most. Choosing the right one is like choosing a best friend. A few basic considerations to keep in mind when you are making such an important decision have to do with the bottom section or the "head" of the golf putters. This is where the brains of the putter are. There are other factors to consider such as the length and the grip but the brains of your best friend will be the most important part of choosing the right putter. Before looking at all of these considerations, let us first consider the most important part of this club known as the "head" of the putter.

The head is the most important part of the putter because it is the place where your ball will make contact on the green. The material in the head affects the way the ball moves and its direction across the green. Cheap or "dumb" putters are usually made of lighter plastic, zinc or aluminum. The lighter material requires you to hit the ball even harder on the green and allows for more mistakes. "Smart", quality putters will usually incorporate stainless steel, titanium or brass. They can also have some wood mixed in or can be made of a combination of these other materials to create a more solid head. The difference will be felt when you hit the ball. On a slow green, the ball will move a lot easier. On a fast green, it will seem that you hardly have to hit it at all.

Perimeter weighting and Lie-angle - Two other important considerations in the head of the putter are perimeter weighting and lie-angle. Perimeter weighting has to do with the size and shape of the head. If you look, you will see a recess in the center of the head. This recess makes it possible for the weight of the head to be distributed in the toe and the heel which is preferable. The other important factor is the lie-angle in the putter head. This tells you whether the putter is sitting flat against the ground when you hold it. Put yourself in your most comfortable stance and ask the salesman to check this for you. If the putter head is not sitting flat against the ground, you may need to have it adjusted.

Length and Grip - Two final things to consider in a putter are the length and the grip. The standard length of a putter is thirty-five inches. If you tend to stand upright, you may want it longer. If you bend over a lot, a shorter putter may be necessary. There are also various grips to consider so that a golfer with smaller hands may need a smaller diameter grip and vice versa. Most importantly, choose a putter that looks and feels comfortable to you because this is going to be your best friend! With these considerations in mind, you will know that you have definitely chosen the right putter for you.

• 3/22/2009 - Antique Pocket Watches. A Testament to Timeless Quality and Resilience

Pocket watches, we have all seen them, especially if you are a fan of old English movies or Sherlock Holmes films you would have seen one. A watch made out of some type of precious metal, silver or gold or even in some cases steel with a cover to protect the screen and a chain attached to it instead of a strap which was attached to the pocket or belt or even placed in ones pocket.

Made at a time when humans were trying their best to make these massive clocks, with the smallest of which being grandfather clocks, into a more miniaturized version that could be used personally. At that time, the thought of a minute hand itself was enough to be certifiable much less to a portable watch since at the time clocks only had an hour hand alone anyway. But however as humans normally do they forge on and eventually after a lot of trial and error, the pocket watch was born. But however this in itself still had lot of kinks, for one, when they first found the solution to portably, accuracy became a problem in that times used to be off up to an hour at times. Then once again they forged on until they eventually came up the solution to their problem and the minute hand was created.

You see what originally happened was that they used coiled springs to replace the hanging weight used in the large clocks but the thing was springs did not unwind at a constant pace causing the inaccuracy. So when they discovered that the springs uncoiled at more constant speed when weights were added they added a balance which increased the accuracy which meant that these watch were off by minutes now and an hour. As time went along more modifications were made until they even in the 1700's added jewels as bearings in the watches to prevent friction and wear between metal parts.

One particular to note is that the first set of pocket watches were not made with coverings to protect the watch but later it was that cases were made of precious metals to protect the watch. Also if you come upon a watch whose cover does match, the manufacturers placed their logo on the case as well, the watch then it is a replacement and not the original.

Today

Nowadays, an antique pocket watch is something of unique quality and value, an item worthy of wealthy collectors throughout the world. Though made in the 1700's it is very rare to find one before 1700 itself and considering to date it is over 300 years, that is to be expected. They are usually kept as an heirloom passed done from generation to generation which is part of the reason why they actually still exist. And the best they are usually still in proper working condition and still ready for use.

Sometimes in your travels you might just by accident come across on of these antique pocket watch and done not even realize. These things though extremely valuable sometimes are sold in garage sales, flea markets, etc through the ignorance of the owner to the value for sometimes a few dollars. Could you imagine meeting upon a ten thousand dollar watch being sold for ten bucks, well, it has happened before. Though many are still in existence, if you where to look, thanks to the durable materials used to make them, which by the way makes them that much more valuable, if you come across one, take it not lightly.

Antique pocket watches a testament to technology advancements at the time and also to that of human ingenuity. And to add to that a perfect it to become a family heirloom lasting as time moves one to forever.

• 3/16/2009 - How to Improve Hunting Sessions With the Right Bowhunting Equipment

A lot of transformation has happened in the world of bowhunting. Right from the primitive times when man used bow and arrow to hunt, to modern days when man uses exclusive bowhunting equipment to hunt game or participate in tournaments - a lot has changed.

Dominant eye usage:

It is imperative that you use only the dominant eye while taking shots using your bowhunting equipment. If you are not sure which is the dominant eye, then perform the following exercise. Take aim at any object with your finger pointing towards it. Keep both your eyes open. Next, close the left eye and find out if the finger still points at this target. Then close the right eye and take aim using the left eye only. Check to see if the finger has moved away from the target. If the finger points to the target when your right eye is open then the right eye is the dominant eye and vice versa. The purpose of knowing which is the dominant eye is to help you get accurate and precise shots each time. Thus, not only is it important to have the right bowhunting equipment you also need to have good eyesight.

The correct bow:

Another vital aspect to consider to improve your hunting sessions is to choose the right custom bow equipment. The proper bow is crucial to ensuring a good hunting session. The best bow should ideally provide a good fit with your body. Depending on your size and age the bow should fit you appropriately. If you are using a longer bow or a bow which is shorter than your body length, then you risk jeopardizing the shot. Thus, choosing the proper bow is another vital aspect of selecting your bowhunting equipment. At times, improper bow length can also impact the weightage of the shot. It can also cause discomfort for the archer and resulting in improper balance.

Draw weight should be right:

The drawing weight is another crucial aspect you need to consider when selecting the bow for your bowhunting equipment. A higher degree of drawing weight can mean quick onset of fatigue and tiredness in the archer. Too much draw weight can also result in you having to move bow while drawing back in order to get the shot right. This can result in too much movement, which can distract and alert the game. Ideally, young archers need bow bowhunting equipment with draw weights ranging from 15 to around 35 pounds. Women who perform archery, need a bow with weight of 25 to around 35 pounds draw weight. For men archers the draw weight should extend between 50 and 55 pounds.

The correct arrow:

Another important aspect to consider as part of your bowhunting equipment is to select the proper arrow. When you are just starting to practice archery make use of cheaper arrow types. Continue this until you master the tricks and techniques of archery completely. Once confident, you can progress towards the expensive versions of arrows. Most of the time, the initial stages of archery call for using plenty of arrows in order to get a feel of the bow bowhunting equipment. Hence, you will use up lots of arrows, which is why investing in cheaper ones will save money.

Miscellaneous accessories:

There are a lot of accessories, which can be used along with your bowhunting equipment to improve shot accuracy. These include peep sights, rests, stabilizers, drop rests, which facilitate the best fletch clearance etc.

The rv travel trailer or fifth wheel has the attraction of getting towed by a pickup or a car, thus giving the adaptability of possessing transportation for you when you are parked at your campsite.

A motorhome is a recreational vehicle that is motorized. It has three categories which can either be gas, diesel or Diesel Pushers which are the most costly ones. Converted vans that are large and self-sustaining represent the smaller types of motorhomes and then there are the ones that are built on
the chassis of a truck.. The motorized motor home needs a tow car for your transportation after you set up in your campsite.

Rvs are styled to your specifications for the best appearance and luxuries you anticipate when possessing an rv. High standard artisanship, venues for entertainment, and keenness to small bits of information can be applied into an rv bearing in mind that each and every amenity comes with a price tag.

A travel trailer or fifth wheel is larger inside than a motorhome of the same size because of the driving area, i.e. a 40 foot trailer or fifth wheel has more livable space than a 40 foot motorhome. Towing a trailer with a car puts a lot of wear and tear on the automobile because they are usually not equipped for heavy duty towing.

The motor home is definitely more money because you are paying for the driving mechanism and chassis. Trailers and motorhomes can be equipped with the same options. So the question seems to be do I want to travel in a truck pulling a large fifth wheel or ride in a motorhome pulling a tow car.

One thing is certain if you talk to a motorhome owner he will tell you that you should definitely purchase a motorhome and the same goes for a vintage travel trailers or fifth wheel owner, he thinks the trailer is the only way to go.   No matter what you choose the experiences are out of this world.

• 3/10/2009 - Simple Steps To Hitting A Hybrid Golf Club

Now here's a golf tip that has been asked a lot on the golf message boards and golf blogs.

How do you hit a hybrid golf club?

The hybrid or utility golf club has been a big hit in the golf community for the last 2 years, but there still seems to be a question about how to hit a golf ball with it. Do you treat it like a mid to long iron or do you treat it like a fairway wood?

Read on and I'll tell you how.

Ok, here's the quick and dirty golf tip you've been waiting for.

A lot of golfers these days have a hybrid in their golf bag, but a lot of them aren't quite sure how to hit it. The question really lies in "how do you treat the hybrid club?" Meaning, do you hit down on the golf ball like you do with an iron? Or do you hit it like you would with a fairway wood?

The one thing you need to remember is that women's hybrid golf club is designed to replace a mid to long iron, so you need to swing it like a mid to long iron. Have the confidence to hit down and through the ball just like you would with your mid to long iron.

Now if you decide to hit your hybrid off the tee then you should tee it up a little higher than an iron and take a few practice swings just to get use to the different weight, feel and length of the golf club. You also want to setup a few inches left of center in your stance, but not as far forward as you do with your driver. Since the shaft isn't as long as your driver you want to be sure and step a little closer to the ball. All of this is important to especially when you've just hit driver on the last few holes.

You're all set so don't over swing, use a conservative tempo, and hit down and through the golf ball! This isn't a club that you want to try and crush like a driver. Once you get the feel for the hybrid you'll find all kinds of situations that you can pull it out. It's one of those clubs that you can gain a lot of confidence with once you get the hang of it.

With confidence comes lower scores so take it out to the range and give the tips a try. Remember that a hybrid can come in handy on long par 3's. It's a great club to pull out when you're confronted with a narrow par 4 or 5 and when need to get out of the rough. Before you know it, it will be your go to club for a lot of shots.

If you don't have a hybrid golf club in your bag then you're leaving golf strokes on the course. So go down to your nearest golf outlet and pick one up today. You'll thank me for it once you shoot your lowest score!

• 3/3/2009 - Learn The Basics Of Electric Guitar

If you want to learn the basics of electric guitar and your first lesson isn't for a while you're probably wondering what to do while you're waiting. Is there any kind of preparation you can do? You could try looking at the free guitar lessons on the internet but it's advisable not to try too much because even at a very early stage you could start forming bad habits. Sometimes new electric guitarists already have some knowledge of music theory or can even play another musical instrument, but that doesn't really give you an edge when learning the basics of left handed electric.

If you are impatient to get started you could check out YouTube. If you are just starting with the electric guitar do a search for "basic guitar lessons". And take the time to just watch the guitarists giving the lessons on video. You don't have to actively try to imitate them, but just watch. Spend a few days or a week doing this for an hour or two and you'll be surprised at how much you have learnt.

When you're looking at the electric guitar lessons on the internet don't worry if you don't like what you see. The video lessons on YouTube are not to everyone's taste - especially someone just trying to learn the basics. Maybe you're just the kind of person who prefers direct contact with the teacher. Some teachers even come to your house to give you lessons.

When you take your first lesson your teacher will show you the correct hand positions and the correct way to hold the guitar. That way you do not begin your life as electric guitar player with bad habits, possibly laying the foundation for injuring your wrist or arms later. If you haven't found a teacher yet the local guitar store is a good place to start. You could answer advertisements in your local paper but I think a recommendation from somebody who already plays guitar is better.

When you are browsing the free electric guitar lessons on the internet take note of the kind of information you can get without paying. Many people complain that free lessons are not as good as paid lessons but it's up to you to judge that for yourself. If you go with free lessons when you first start playing the electric guitar, quite possibly even after some months you will still not be playing a complete song. Free guitar lessons cannot give you the impetus to set up a practice regime for yourself and to systematically learn chords in different positions on the guitar fretboard, practice chord progressions, and then put this knowledge into practice with some of your favorite songs. An electric guitar is not easy to carry around but it's best to take your own guitar to your lessons. You don't need the extra hassle of adjusting to a strange guitar when you are learning new material.

When it comes to learning songs you can make great use of the free tab sites on the internet. Some of these sites have tabs for music that you can't get in music shops. You can also try the various guitar tab groups on MySpace. Some of the free tab sites on the web also have free lessons. If you do a little searching you could find out about the various parts of your electric guitar and how to use them, such as whammy bar technique or how to play harmonics.

Learn How To Play A Guitar For Free is a constantly updated blog containing all the resources you need for: learning to play solo guitar, how to learn guitar chords, how to learn to read and play easy acoustic guitar tabs, finding a free online guitar tuner, looking for free guitar lessons online, video guitar lessons and how to learn guitar scales.

• 12/21/2008 - Hybrid Clubs or Fairway Woods?

Posted in Golf

hybrid iron golf clubs keep growing in popularity. And the lofts on hybrids keep getting lower. This gives you more options but blurs the distinction between hybrid clubs and fairway woods.

Some hybrids come in lofts as low as 14*. That’s lower than many 3 woods. When deciding on fairway woods or hybrids, how do you know you’re making the right choice?

Hybrids come in two flavors…

Before comparing hybrid clubs and fairway woods, you need to look at the two types of hybrids and decide which suits your game. They’re a little different and affect set makeup differently too.

Knowing how to make distinctions between these clubs can help you develop a short list of hybrids and fairway woods to field-test the next time out.

Hybrid irons. These hybrids replace irons, have the same lofts and weights as the irons they replace and come in the same finished lengths and swingweights. That means they’ll feel the same as the irons in your current set.

The advantages?

That’s simple. Hybrid irons simplify the replacement of corresponding long irons. It also keeps your set’s progression consistent. This maintains a predictable 10 yard gap between clubs throughout your set. That makes club selection easier.

Another benefit?

Higher long iron trajectories. The lower center of gravity (CG) in hybrid irons produces a higher trajectory with the same effort. Players with lower swing speeds can take advantage of hybrids to get back the long iron yardages for longer approaches to the green.

If you never thought you’d be able to hit a two iron, hybrid irons deliver the out-and-out perfect solution.

Hybrid fairways. These mimic fairway woods to some extent. They’re longer in length.

• 12/10/2008 - Precision and Accuracy Movado Quartz Dress Watch

I bought a Movado Women's Collection 14K Solid Gold Diamond Watch for my wife in August and my sister kept bugging us for one so we bought her this Movado 14k solid gold watch Lumeti with the classic Movado Quart movement for her 62nd Birthday and she loves it! It is not as dressy as Movado's signature gold and diamond watch with the black face but just as elegant in my opinion. Any recipient of this lovely gift with certainly always think of you when they check their watch for time or when others comment how beautiful their watch is. Good luck and get a Movado for your loved one for the Holidays! Good luck!!

• 12/8/2008 - My putter is bent

When I received the putter, I noticed the shaft was shaped very strangely. It turns out the bend in the shaft was unintentional - they sent me a putter that was either already bent or was bent in shipping. Because it was only ~$[...] it's not worth my while to send it back or whatever to get a replacement (which would probably also be bent when it arrived at my house). The driver/3 metal/5 metal I got from this company were also very poor quality, but I do like the golf bag that I got from them. Either way you get what you pay for, and there's a reason this company sells such cheap crap. Blade golf putter
